CDS KENYA
Community
Development and Sustainability Organization (CDS) is
concerned with good governance and advocacy. CDS represents the voice and
proactive action of communities in five counties as potential engines of the
socio-economic growth and national democracy in respective jurisdictions.
CDS was formed in June 2009. Out of the need to replicate community
development, CDS started out as a CBO registered in 2010 with the Ministry of
Gender, Children and Social Development in Mt. Elgon (Certificate No.3466). The
CBO was changed to NGO in 2012 and is registered in the NGO Coordination Board
under Certificate No. OP 218/051/12-0839/8736.
About the competition
CDS is a membership organization with members across the region and focuses on
tackling the community challenges people face on a day-to-day basis, providing
structure and unity. About the competition CDS (Community Development and
Sustainability Organization) Kenya is organizing an essay competition with the
help of UN online volunteers about the WAGES Project which aimed to
provide scholarships for 60 women. The competition is part of our fundraising
program for the project and each participant is equally extending their support
for the cause by registering with us. You can learn more about the work of the
organization through

How to enter?
Essays
must distinctly encompass the themes described below:
We are calling for essays that will reflect on
gender inequality of the Kenyan population concerning education and how
cultural practices influenced this inequality. The motivation of the respective
essays should be driven by a collective stance on the generic idea of the
issues faced by the Kenyan population, problems of education inequality within the
gender and its customs. However, we will not condone any writing which entails
condescending remark to the indigenous culture of the community and such
submissions will be rejected instantly. We would like to honor the essay which
strictly adheres to the theme; the heterogeneous lives led by the people, the
ebb and flow of the modern educational development in the region highlighting
gender inequality, social norms, and customs which hypothetically or practically
bolster or expunge gender equality and its impact along with suggestive
solutions. Please research the related information online or any other reliable
sources to formulate your writing before submission
